Our Values
- RBC seeks to be a Biblical Church. We baptise believers by full immersion. We are evangelical in doctrine and seek to be evangelistic in practice.
- RBC seeks to maintain a conscious openness to all the Holy Spirit would do. We advocate the Spirit's baptism, fullness, fruit, gifts, power and inspiration for the individual, as well as the church corporately, and seek to further revival in the nation, for the nations.
- RBC believes in the grace of God. We are what we are by God's unmerited favour. We, therefore, worship God freely and wholeheartedly out of gratitude. We also seek to demonstrate the grace of God in our relationships together, and to the watching world.
- RBC is led by a body of elders that has been set aside to give oversight, vision, and direction to the church.
- RBC has deacons who serve within specific areas in the life of the church, ensuring that the areas are run effectively. The various areas and groups in the life of the church have other leaders who lead under the authority of the elders.
- In RBC all leaders seek to lead in a way that is sensitive and responsible to the members as a whole. All leaders are servants and the eldership consults the Church when considering significant changes in future direction.
- RBC is a church where every member is encouraged and expected to function as part of Christ's body. We believe in the 'priesthood of all believers'. We seek to train and develop everyone to his or her potential in ministry so that we can be a 'Sending Church' in line with the 'Church Vision'.
- RBC is a family in which all ages are valued and seen as an integral part of the church. We see children and youth, as well as adults, as the church of today.
- RBC recognises the ministry gifts (Ephesians 4) given by Christ to His church. These ministries may operate from within the church, or be invited in from outside.
- Members of the church are committed to the 'visions and values of the church', and should seek to show this commitment by active involvement in service and fellowship in the church. Church groups are an integral aspect of the church, (as a model for significant outreach and growth) together with Sunday gatherings. All members are expected to participate and benefit from both.
- RBC has a God-given vision to affect the community, the city, and the nation as an 'Antioch' style church. This involves a commitment to world-wide mission, sacrifice, training, service and co-operation with others. We actively encourage working in partnership with other Churches who share our values.
