Youth Work @ RBC
What is our youth work about?
To see the Kingdom of God advancing among young people!
We also believe that:
1. Good relationships between mates are really important, and with leaders who just love young people
2. Everyone is equal and we want to see you empowered to make good decisions about life and faith 3. Jesus is ultimately the answer, so we're all about seeing young people come to know Christ, connecting with other Christian young people, the family of God (the church), and getting equipped and sent out by God on His mission. It's not about "being religious" or "nice", it's a dynamic relationship with Jesus that turns a person's whole life upside down and gives meaning, purpose and vision. 4. To do all this we have to have a committed youth ministry team of various ages. We also connect with families, local schools and the local community.
So what are we believing God for?
In line with the church’s vision we are trusting God for a load of young people who get to know Jesus and get equipped to share the word of God and demonstrate real love other people. The Kingdom of God is not simply about words.
How can I join in?
Here are 8 ways you can get stuck in…**for more info and all dates see Youth Program under ‘Recent Uploads’**. There you will also find all consent forms etc.

Youth Clubs. Meet your mates, make new ones, have fun, take trips out, discuss and ask stuff about life’s big questions and explore what the Christian faith has to say about it. Each week we have lots of young people meeting in different youth clubs (see below for times and days). Depending on the age of the group we do anything from games nights, chip tasting tours, film nights, hanging out in coffee shops, sleepless weekends away, or just simple chill nights using our youth rooms which are kitted out with all sorts of stuff. Most weeks before or during youth clubs we have either an optional bible study for those interested in exploring the Christian faith, or group discussion times and a talk on moral & spiritual issues. Some groups are involved in practical projects like sponsoring a child from a poorer country with www.compassion.com

Sunday mornings (discussion and teaching groups). This is where you get bible teaching and discuss stuff that matters with others your own age. **At the moment we are going through a book called God’s Lavish Grace by Terry Virgo. We’ve got the publishers permission to voice record the book, so for a free download of each chapter for your ipod or other mp3 player please go to the link on this page. Password is required so please register first at the top of the page first**

Cell groups On Sunday nights 6.30pm at the Church Building. Youth cells (small groups) are a key part of helping you get real with God and with others. Each cell group has at least one adult mentor, and as the young people in cell groups mature we see them taking the group on themselves more and more.
-
The Well. This is the place for all young people to get serious with God in worship, receive solid bible teaching, and learn to pray and use your spiritual gifts such as prophecy. It’s great fun. Other groups will be joining us this year. Ignite is a city-wide youth Sunday night youth event run by Ignite. www.igniteme.org
- Mentoring. A few of young people have a ‘mentor’ - an adult of your choice who you meet with regularly to hang out with and chat about stuff that matters to you.
- Paradise Run (preparing food once a month on a Wed eve and serving it to the needy in Cardiff with Rainbow of Hope ministry). Food prep team (church building 5.15-7.30pm) and Serving team (7.15-9.45pm). Age 13 and up.

Who's in charge?
Hi, I'm Fraser and I've been with the church full-time for nearly five years. I love working with young people, whatever they're like, and I used to be a youth pastor / leader in and . I lead the team overall. When I’m not doing that you’ll find me in a coffee shop reading newspaper sports pages or a good book, spending time with my family or playing golf (which I used to be really good at, but not any more L ).
